John Bildahl is well known for his yachting photography which can be seen on hundreds of magazine covers and articles, locally and nationally.
He also enjoys studio photography and the opportunity to express his “off-beat,” creative side in art shows.
“Picture-taking is first of all the focusing of a temperament, only secondarily of a machine” (Susan Sontag).
“By using the machinery unmechanically you give yourself the opportunity to express yourself and supply images with a wider and more delicate gamut than the hand can draw” (Paul Rosenfeld).

Ruth Connell is an artist, architect and educator. Originally from Corning, New York, Ruth studied art and art history at Vassar College, and became a registered architect following graduate studies in architecture at the University of Pennsylvania. Ruth teaches architecture at Morgan State University in Baltimore.
Ruth is a printmaker and painter. About her visual images, Ruth says: “My work explores the edge between natural, organic forms and their abstraction. I often begin painting with specific images from nature, such as foliage, flowers, fruits and landscapes. The complexity of the natural forms is transformed into more simplified shapes and color relationships. Color relationships are distilled into heightened complementary dichotomies. As I draw or paint, I consciously work to abstract the natural forms.”
Ruth moved to Annapolis in 1989 because she loves the community and likes to be close to the water, with easy access to Baltimore, Washington, and the serenity of the Eastern Shore.

Born and bred Annapolitan, Jason Duden is a self-taught artist and local house painter.
Jason's artful expressions and technique are raw and frank examinations and explorations
of life's textured experiences. He illustrates his visionary views with oil and mixed media
dimensional vignettes.
Jason has shown with the Art Between the Creeks Group since the spring of 2005. Recently, he displayed his works at the Washington, DC, Artomatic 2007 Show in Crystal City Virgina. He has shown his works in Georgetown's Caddy's Ally, also in Washington DC, and his work has been on display at other Local Galleries in Annapolis.

Cindy Fletcher Holden is a 1983 graduate of Maryland Institute College of Art. She has been a freelance artist, operating the Fletcher Art Studio since 1988, specializing in large format murals, custom boat lettering and oil paintings.
One her favorite accomplishments has been starting Art Between The Creeks.
She currently is on a two-year sailing sabbatical with her husband. They recently arrived safely in Portugal where they are now. There she painted several small paintings to be exhibited in this year's ABTC Fall show.
She will be returning to the 4th Street studio Winter/Spring of 2012/2013, the exact timing will depend on weather, money and general conditions of the Ocean.

Phil Gurlik is originally from Wisconsin where he attended Milwaukee College and the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, where he earned a BA in Music/Painting. In 1982, Phil moved to Houston, Texas, where he had a studio until moving to Annapolis in 1998. He is currently an Artist in Residence at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts in Annapolis.
Phil is listed in Who’s Who in American Art and has been included in numerous exhibitions throughout the United States. He is represented in a number of public and corporate collections, as well as many private collections. A book of Phil’s work titled Selected Work was published in 1996 by Tafford Publishing. He has also been included in the Rockport/North Light book Best of Painting-Composition and the Houston Museum and Arts Magazine.

Anita Hagan - creates her unique mixed media artwork in a small cottage studio on the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. A unique combination of handmade Korean Kozo paper, watercolor and linoleum block printing comes together to form works on paper that are bold in color, line and expressive quality. Inspired both by the natural world and the human form, she strives to communicate the complexity of living things.

Merrilyne Hendrickson - Born in Cambridge, New York., Merrilyne Hendrickson graduated from the Syracuse School of Art with a BFA in 1971, and earned a Masters of Art from the University of Maryland. In 1979, Merrilyne established Accent Graphics and began a career painting boat names and graphics. In addition to running her business, she has exhibited handmade paper sculptures locally and internationally. Merrilyne’s watercolors are primarily Plein Aire landscapes and natural environments.

Channing Houston - Mr. Houston is a native of Annapolis. Although he has lived in some other places, including Chicago, the Washington, D.C. area, Tucson, Arizona and Mountain View, California, he is currently back in Annapolis.
He started painting as a high school student in the 1970s. An intense focus on bicycle racing during the 1980s limited his production in that decade but in 1990 he began to redirect that intensity back into painting. His friendship with Monroe Hall, who helped instigate the early “Warehouse” shows, led to Mr. Houston showing work in the December 1994 and May 1995 Eastport “Warehouse” events.
His work has been shown to the public primarly in Washington, D.C. spaces, for instance, the MOCADC gallery, PASS Gallery, DCAC, District West Fine Arts and most of the Art-O-Matics. Some of his paintings are scattered around the United States in various private collections and a few are in Europe.

Leonard Koscianski was born in Cleveland. A student of R. Buckminster Fuller, and noted American painter Wayne Theibaud, Leonard received his Bachelor’s degree from the Cleveland Institute of Art and his Masters degree from the University of California, Davis. Leonard has exhibited his artwork throughout the United States and Europe. He is represented by the OK Harris Gallery in New York, the Robert Berman Gallery in Los Angeles, and the Cumberland Gallery in Nashville.
His artwork is to be found in many public and private collections including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Philadelphia Museum, and the Chicago Art Institute, and has also appeared in the The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, Art News, and Art Forum. He has received numerous awards including the National Endowment for the Art’s Individual Artist Fellowship, and the Rockefeller Foundation’s Bellagio Fellowship. Barbara Lacy has always been driven by a desire to express herself creatively and this has illuminated and energized all aspects of her life.
A mixed media artist, Barbara chooses to work in mosaic tile, mirror, glass, metal, fabric, and paint, producing works of sculpture, in bas relief and full round, as well as artful furniture pieces.
Barbara's style is inventive and insightful with a sense of wit and whimsy. Her strategic use of color creates and enhances the visual sense of depth of her work.
Barbara's career as a professional makeup artist in television and film for over 25 years has influenced the strong sense of the theatrical that characterizes her work.

Over the past 15 years, the experiences of Michael Land working on and around the Chesapeake Bay have instilled in him a love and respect for its natural wonders, heritage, lore and most of all, its rich traditions.
“From the deck of a research vessel, I've studied and experienced the Bay since graduating from college in 1992. During that time, my respect and love for the Chesapeake Bay and all that it embodies has grown with each passing day. Since moving to Annapolis in 1999, I've continued work on the Chesapeake Bay, albeit in a slightly different capacity - that of a web designer. However, it's a little hard to continue the connection with the Bay behind a computer - thus the pursuit of Bay photography.”
“My intent is to evoke an emotion, create a connection, and garner an appreciation
of the Chesapeake - with hopes that it will lead to the individual choices we all must make to help restore and protect this resource.”

Lisa Masson - Photographer Lisa Masson has been shooting architectural, advertising and studio work for the past 23 years. After earning a BFA in Photography
Lisa traveled with her camera and enjoyed a few years of photographing at resorts from the mountains to the sea. In 1986 she started her successful commercial photography business. After ten years in her 3000-sq.ft. studio in Arlington, Lisa decided a move to Annapolis would bring her closer to her love of the water and sailing.
Lisa has been a part of the Art Between the Creeks shows off and on for the past nine years and enjoys creating new Fine Art works. Some of Lisa’s Fine Art work can be seen in all the guest rooms as well as four of the meeting rooms at the BWI Hilton in Lithicum. She also has work on display in the lobbies of the Sheraton and Double Tree Hotels in Annapolis. Lisa will be the featured artist for the month of December at Honeysuckle Home in Arnold.

Michael Matthews is a lifelong Annapolitan, Eastporter and artist who started exhibiting her work in 2002 at the first Art Between the Creeks Show.
She is veteran of numerous group and individual shows including the "Image and Imagination" show at the Elizabeth Meyers Mitchell Gallery at St. Johns College. One of her works was selected for the Annapolis Arts Alliance, Art Works 2004 Bus Stops.
Michael attended the University of Maryland College Park and studied Advertising and Applied Design and is a graduate of Bowie State College with a BS in Advertising and Public Relations.

Sandy Travis-Bildahl enjoys creative expression on many levels.
An artist who’s most often inspired by the colors, light and subjects of the West Indies as well as New England, she’s drawn to life by the sea. She is also interested in the physics of thought and how that subject translates to art.
Her work has also been shown at The Mitchell Gallery in Annapolis and at the Devonish Gallery in Anguilla, West Indies. Owner of the business, The Word Catcher, recording personal histories, she also is a long-time writer for television, advertising and public relations. She is also a poet, as well as the author of several children’s books.

Rosemary Freitas Williams is a long-time local watercolor artist, painting primarily from her home studio in Annapolis. Rosemary has exhibited at many regional galleries including Metropolitan Gallery, Cade Center for Fine Arts, NBC’s Asman Gallery and is a member and regular exhibitor with Eastport’s “Art Between The Creeks” art shows.

John Williams is an oil painter who prefers compositions inspired by the Chesapeake Bay and surrounding areas. John has exhibited at Asman Gallery in Washington, DC, the Mitchell Gallery in Annapolis, Bishop's Stock Gallery in Snow Hill, MD and the twice-annual Art Between the Creeks in Annapolis. A retired U.S. Marine, John shares a home art studio with his wife Rosemary, and black labs, Samantha and Princess Buttercup.

Starting with a small easel at her artist-grandmother’s side, Molly Winans has been painting and drawing on and off since childhood. Bored with her longtime theme of travel cityscapes in oils, she recently shifted to a more abstract, intuitive approach working in acrylics and collage on canvas or panel board.
Although better known in Eastport as a writer and the editor of SpinSheet Magazine, Molly has also studied drawing and painting at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts, Anne Arundel Community College, St. John’s College, and the Art League School at the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, VA. She exhibits her work at Art Between the Creeks and Maryland Federation of Arts shows.
